I have managed to get AjaxCommentLuv working quite nicely! I’ve even added support for Wordpress MU (I think). It works with logged in users who aren’t administrators on the CommentLuv site.
I wonder if I should enter this to the Wordpress MU plugin contest? it might get it some good exposure!
Anyone out there with Wordpress MU willing to give this first draft a try to see if AjaxCommentLuv works with your multi-user site? if you do, please let me know in the comments..

I could give the wpmu version a quick test but I need a download link
btw. saw your post in the wpmu forum.
I sent you the first draft of the plugin.. thanks!
can’t access my email from work - neither can I post my work email here…
Sorry am unable to oblige but I see that you have already solved the problem. All the best.

I would be willing to do this. Can you provide any sort of download link? Unless you’ve already found the help you needs.
Let me know!

hello.
sorry I couldn’t get back to you yesterday, I have a problem when configuring the plugin.
I put it into mu-plugins, went to a blog, to configure it. In its settigns, it was missing a Comment Form ID so I checked, and entered: #comment_form, then saved and it asked me:
Are you sure you want to do this? Followed by a link TRY AGAIN back to the options page.
so what I am basically saying is that it doesn’t save the settings for me

ovidiu: thanks for helping, I have sent you the new updated version. there error was because I had one of the underscores wrong on the options. should be fixed now.
nicole: thanks anyhoo
spamfilters: I sent you an email with the latest draft, thanks for the offer!
like I told you in my mail, now the option fields are all populated, still I can’t save if I have to change the comment id field
Ovidius last blog post: How much social networking is too much social networking?
ok thanks, I’ll get on that now and try and sort the options saving function too
I just installed it on MU, and so far it looks okay. I was able to post a comment, but of course, as you said, it wouldn’t work as an administrator.
No clashes yet with my other comment plug-ins:
- Ajax comment posting
- Better comments manager
- WP Ajax comments
- Collapsable comments (getting ready to activate but I want to wait and see if CommentLuv works next time a non-admin posts)
What are you using for your “notify me of followup comments” plug-in?

sharkgirl: thanks for letting me know! I’m just about finishing the user registration page now, it only needs a quick dot and dash
my notify comments plugin is here http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/
let me know if you discover any problems…
Hi Andy,
I was checking out commentluv.com but I can’t really figure out why I would have to register, will you be extending /expanding that website soon?
I understand what your plugin does, I gave the last version (without ajax) a try as well, but I can’t figure out why I would register
P.S. Answered your last email, this version is now perfectly working with wpmuovidius last blog post..A new browser: Google Chrome
Ovidiu: thanks for your help. Registering at the site is free and is not required but if you do, you will have the option to choose from your last 10 posts when you comment on ACL blogs. Also, it will retrieve your posts much quicker due to your feed location being on record at the site.
soon you will be able to define a default post to use or point to a particular page which is useful for when you want to promote a site without a feed. There will eventually be a page where you can see what blogs you’ve commented on and who have commented on you which might be useful for some folk.
giving extra features for registered users means I will be able to remove spam blogs from the database and then they wont be able to use commentluv at all. It certainly reduces the load on my server too!
ok, thx, that all makes sense to me so far, but what if I have multiple sites? Do I have to register them all one-by-one or can I register and add multiple sites to my profile?
I mean if I were registered at commentluv.com and would comment here how does your site recognize me if I comment on this site i.e.? Does it just compare the combination of username+email+URL ?
ovidius last blog post..A new browser: Google Chrome
I’ll be adding the option of having multiple sites in the future, for now I want to make sure it can handle the load without crashing which it seems to be doing.
the site recognizes you by the url you leave above, when it sees that you are registered, it sends back the last 10 posts instead of just the one.
that seems open to abuse
anyone can leave fake comments, spammy comments and use my url, to get me kicked out of your system….
anyway, I like the plugin that was just some feedback
ovidius last blog post..A new browser: Google Chrome
i suppose so but I would at the very least contact someone on the email they registered with to see if any dubious comments were made by them or someone else.
thanks for the feedback, it all helps!
FYI .. I cant comment on a post or use your contact form, you are having errors come up with ajax force preview comment and your contact form says Failed call to wp_mail() - unable to send message.
WOW. thx. thats a lot of errors, did you get those errors trying to post on the url I use to comment here on your blog?ovidius last blog post..A new browser: Google Chrome
thx, fixed the ajax preview prob, was just a wrong path and the comment form works now as well
had a plugin incompatibility problem…
BIG thx for lettign me know.ovidius last blog post..A new browser: Google Chrome
It seems to be working just fine now. Just you sorted out the kinks.Eva Whites last blog post..Another Horrifying Headline
ovidiu: It took a few goes to let you know, 2 on the post with error and twice on the contact form. Good job you came back!
