My blog loads in less than 4 seconds in all locations where it was tested, but the result is “unavailable” in China.
Could it be that *I* am banned in China? ;->

hehe, I don’t think so, China sometimes drops off the list of points available so probably that machine was down.

I am loading at an average of a little over 1 second. I knew it was worth it to get all those nasty third party plugins that just slows down your load time.

BTW, China is not on my list either.

I see that you use a feedburner link, they must get quite busy with so many people using their service so it might get busy now and again.

to you and me browsing there it just means 5 more seconds to wait until we see it but for the script that’s too long to wait so it just returns back rather than hanging around too long.

I think we can live with it! I was looking at how to implement AJAX into the viewer side of the blog and thought about using an updating AJAX message telling the user the status of the feed parse but I can’t find a way to add an ‘onclick’ event to the post comment button.

maybe I can use a filter to see what happens directly after the form is submitted, there might be a chance to call another routine to use ajax to display the status..

or.. maybe a fade box after the comment has been posted saying success or fail on feed parse.. haha, that might be the best way, I’ll work on it for this week and use that to take it to version 1.0

muesli junkie: I use heart internet hosting, it’s not bad, it does everything I need it to do and seems to handle all the traffic well. the support is excellent, tickets are always answered quickly and with concise information.

Funny thing Sharon, my feed shows in the second comment every time I write around. Just about time it arrives. *rolls eyes*

Sharon, Mira: I’ll try some fiddling with the code to see whats going on for Mira’s feed but my gut feeling is that it’s just a timeout happening.
