After much experimentation, I have decided to neuter the MyBlogLogDogg. I got it working again, only to have it start misbehaving after a few pages so I decided to disable the bit where it automatically fingers (oo-er!) the tracker for the targets MBL widget.
Instead, I will have it extract the url from the targets profile page and store it in a file for manually visiting later or have it display links to all the personal sites of each page it has visited after it has done the profile page parsing. Plus, I think that thousands of hits to the MBL tracker script from my domain might not be such a good thing to do!
I also noticed that my blog has got it’s first 500 unique hits, it has taken just over a week to get them. Looking at my google analytics and my own installed stats, I can see that a lot of hits came from Digg and Stumbleupon, my most popular post was for the Affiliate Cookie Widget with 136 page views, 116 of them from Stumbleupon.
nice!
